Wollongong City Council

In early 2008 the Wollongong City Council was embroiled in scandal surrounding a development proposal.[1]
On the night before the 2007 federal election NSW Treasurer Michael Costa, NSW Roads Minister Eric Roozendaal, NSW Health Minister Reba Meagher and NSW Ports Minister Joe Tripodi attended a Labor fund-raiser with Labor apparatchik Joe Scimone and Glen Tabak a property developer.[1]
At the same event the year before, developer Lou Tasich who was later found to be corrupt by the Independent Commission Against Corruption sat at a table with Mr Roozendaal. Six months after the event, Lou Tasich tried to bribe a Wollongong Council officer over a piece of land, writing him a note: "30K 4 U".[1]
Following this scandal Morris Iemma sacked the entire Wollongong City Council.
